"Funds from LRCF allowed 16 participants to attend a week-long event called Camp Wilderness. Scouts took classes on canoeing, kayaking, leatherwork, motorboating, wilderness survival, wood carving, emergency preparedness, paddle boarding, climbing, metalworking, trailblazing, game design, first aid, nuclear science, space exploration, all terrain vehicles, and archery. Your support has been immensely helpful in creating opportunities for the youth of Devils Lake."
-Scouts BSA Troop 31
"We were able to help 130 kids with school supplies, 39 families with diapers, 40 families with food cards, and 80 people with gas cards (used for out of town medical appointments, employment, and emergencies). "
-Dakota Prairie Community Action Agency
"The auto extrication held a class conducted by ACK Technical Rescue Training. This information has provided more experience in using ropes that we can use as part of our lifesaving and rescue missions. Having increased rope rescue capabilities increases the number of situations we can use ropes to further complete tasks that we previously would have been unable to."
-Lake Region Auto Extrication Team
"The Lake Region Ambulance crew has never had winter gear prior to receiving this grant, despite how often they are in the harsh winter elements. We received all funds needed to completely outfit the crew with winter pants, winter gloves, goggles, and balaclavas. Now we are not only able to respond in proper winter gear, but we were also able to purchase winter gear that is specifically for first responders. This will impact us for years to come."
-Lake Region Ambulance Service
"The funds that we received assisted with providing meals to those placed into shelter or a hotel until we could place them into the shelter or another location depending on the situation. Supplies were purchased to allow victims to call for help if needed. Community education supplies were purchased and distributed to people of all ages at various events."
